Sandy Dobbs has
spent the majority of her career working in the corporate environment.
Since 1997, she has been a part of the Hercules Incorporated Internet/Intranet
initiative. This web project involved interviewing departments/businesses
as to their needs, creating storyboards, recruiting and training web
administrators from throughout the company, setting up initial web
design templates, and creating standards and guidelines. Her work
eventually progressed to involvement in the E-Commerce initiative.
The Internet protocol was created to connect computers quickly and
easily, to transfer data, and to share resources. What it has grown
to is a far cry from those days. The Internet is still going through
growing pains similar to that of the telephone. People discovered
the telephone's value as a communication medium and its use became
commonplace. Today more and more people are becoming 'connected' and
the Internet is becoming just as commonplace. They are discovering
it can be a valuable resource for buying, selling, and promoting products
and for gathering information.
